Hello everyone, welcome to the France IA game part 7! An amazing 32 people voted in part 6! 9 of you voted for Vercingetorix, and considering his recent progress against Switzerland, it seems well deserved. Somehow, 6 of you got lost and voted for Viriato... Come on guys, we all know Charlemagne is the guy to give votes to.

We see Vercingetorix taking the fight to Dufour, with Vesoul in the yellow.
William declared war on Louis last part, and Chartres is taking the brunt of it. If Louis gets his army to the front, he can stop the Norman advance, but he's a bit disorganised.
William founds his fifth city, which has a case of invisibilitis. Some others (*Cough* Vercingetorix *Cough*) have upwards of 20. Alfred may take offense though, as I think he's claimed Brittany from the Bretons.
We see the last of the Centre's units, a settler, a worker, and a missionary. So, soon a settler and a worker. We also see the completely undefended border between Gallia and the Visigoths.
Alaric of the Visigoths declared war on Viriato's Iberians last part. Logrono is taking damage, and looks set to fall. Viriato's navy will prevent reinforcements from getting to the front with any measure of health. Viriato needs to get his units to the front to keep his cities.
Robrecht is spitting in Louis' face, as he refounds Dieppe. Louis' army is going to Chartres though, so it isn't all sadness in his world.
William takes Chartres and burns it. The castle that was built there upon capture is being razed as well. If Louis plays his cards/army right, he could recapture the city though. Blois is also taking damage.
Because William is getting to big for the region, Vercingetorix and Alfred declare war on Normandy! William's navy is taking the fight to Cherbourg, but Alfred's land army is poised to strike at Hirel. In a couple turns. Maybe. Cherbourg has 4 people because Alfred is a communist and has the resettling belief.
Vercingetorix shouldn't have too hard a time taking Nevers, as the only thing defending the city is a Chevalier and a great general. Too bad Vercingetorix has no army neat the city. Oh yeah, Charles has a great general too.
Anyway, on the successful Gallic front, Vesoul is continuing to take damage.
Blois is halfway down, but Louis' army is next to Chartres. You can see the remnants of Alfred's force to attack Flanders in and around Normandy.
Sarzeau doesn't look safe from the Anglo-Saxon hordes. Its invisible though, so it should be fine.
The Norman Navy is continuing to fight around Cherbourg, but the Anglo-Saxon Navy is here to fight for their right to control the Channel.
Alaric takes Logrono, but Viriato looks like he can take it back. Zarautz may fall next though.
SETTLE GOD DAMN YOU!!!
Vesoul is about to fall! I can feel/taste it.
Decent tech spread at the bottom. Except for Anne and Charles.
Not a lot of a tech lead either. Great.
Viriato takes back Logrono! Alaric doesn't have the forces near it to take it back. Zarautz may hold, interestingly.
Blois is still in the yellow, and Louis' army has both fallen apart and pushed past Chartres without taking it.
Alfred's navy is kicking William's navy's butt. I think a Norman caravel is lost, to the north of Niton.
Alfred you suck at taking Sarzeau! Probably because it hasn't become visible yet.
I forgot that the leaders with the two longest names were at war with each other. Anway, Charlemagne is pushing into Chaumont with a couple of units. Vercingetorix has some cavalry nearby, so it should be fine.
Dufour and Vercingetorix have made peace, and Dufour has given every city away except Bern to the Gauls. Dufour is now actual Switzerland: small, and hopefully peaceful.
William and Louis make peace, as William continues to burn Chartres making the war useless... *sigh* how can you expect to win if you burn the city you take?
Alfred's navy looks set to dominate the Channel, and Flanders is there to observe the proceedings.
Sarzeau finally takes damage. Unfortunately, most of Alfred's forces are toasty bits.
Zarautz is fine, and Logrono is starting to take some more damage as Alaric sends more forces to fight.
If Charlemagne swallowed some brave pills, he could take a couple cities from Vercingetorix. I'd be surprised though.
Alfred's force for taking Sarzeau is bigger, and some damage is occuring, but it could take a while at this rate. If Alfred could spare some forces to take Hirel, its defenseless and could potentially fall quickly.
Alfred's navy now dominates the Channel Caen could be in trouble.
Yes yes me, Gallic cavalry. Come on Vercingetorix, you could take Nevers easily.
Charlemagne starts marching towards Chaumont. The Gallic horse forces will take damage during defense.
Caen starts to take damage, maybe Alfred will get a second capital soon, which is exciting! It'll probably take a few turns/parts which isn't though.
Come on Alfred, this should be an easy victory for you. I'm disappointed.
Viriato is defending very well for an AI. Maybe those of you who voted for him weren't wrong. You may not have been right, but you weren't wrong.
The Gauls push towards Nancy, while the Franks stop pushing anything.
Say bye bye to Chartes. Alfred should be able to do... something. Maybe. Whatever...
Come on, one more turn should have it Alfred. Maybe. Whatever...
Look at glorious Flanders! So Flemish.
The Franks are pretty Frankish as well. They could both be better.
Vercingetorix is attacking Nancy, which could separate Strasbourg from the rest of the Frankish kingdom.
Its a naval attack, so it'll be problematic for the AI. I'm not holding my breath, otherwise I'd be dead.
FINALLY!!! Now we have to wait forever for the next city to fall...
The defense is strong with the Iberians.
The Gauls appear to have a concentrated army for once, which is kind of weird.
An overview of the Anglo-Saxon/Norman border.
Verdun and Nancy are taking some damage. The Flemish are starting to get many many musketmen.
Yeah, its a strong defense. Also, Alfred has constructed the Louvre.
So... What's going on here lads?
William has landed some riflemen near Caen, and his navy is present for bombardment. The city may actually take some damage.
A view of the inter-French/Flemish/Gallic/Frankish border area. Pretty large armies here.
Surprise, the overview was an accidental prelude to war between Flanders and the Franks! Maybe someone will lose a city or 7. It'd be nice if something happened, I'm tired of making things up for William and Alfred.
Robrecht was probably getting jealous of Vercingetorix's advances into Frankish territory.
What are you doing guys? Vercingetorix, take Nevers already!
Caen is yellow, but William's forces have repulsed the Anglo-Saxon forces for now.
The Gallic Reich is now a thing, so that's great.
We'll end this part by highlighting the first ironclad of the game. Probably. Edit: nice try me, but the Flemish have one as well (thanks u/Andy0132)

Just want to say thanks to everyone who voted in last part's poll.

Here's the strawpoll: http://strawpoll.me/6197809
Groups of nations are appearing. The Gauls lead, and we have close matches for third and fifth.
Military-wise, the Gauls are leading by far. Everyone else has fallen recently/is currently falling, so its expected that he has a large lead.
Still a lot of green there.
The Visigoths are very populous. :)
Meanwhile, the Gauls lead in production by a hefty amount.
Check out the Anglo-Saxon happiness! Good on them! A lot of unhappy people at the bottom of this list.
The Anglo-Saxons have a 2 tech lead, but that little is silly to call a lead and shouldn't have that much of an impact.
