The Lion of Flanders - Chapter II: All for Flanders, Flanders for Christ

Hello everyone and welcome to my Megacampaign called The Lion of Flanders.
It is heavily inspired by Kingdom come, one of the most amazing playthroughs I have ever seen or read. (Link:https://lparchive.org/Paradox-Games-Kingdom-Come/)
The campaign starts in CK2, will be exported to EU4, continued in Victoria 2 and either be completed in one of the HOI games.

The year is 1225 AD. I, Duchess Johanna of Flanders, return to a realm of sin. My courtiers and vassals are filled with Lust, Gluttony, Greed, Sloth, Wrath, Envy and Pride. I wil warn them, for Pride Comes before the fall. I will bring God back to Flanders. Dei Gratia, I, a poor sinner, wil make the whole of Flanders, including myself, repent its sins.

I, Duchess of Flanders, will bring Christ back to Flanders!

I have joined The Dominician Order, they will help me bring Flanders closer to god.

The Flu, God has decided to keep punishing me, I will pray to The Holy Virgin.

The French Pig welcomes the sons of Abraham once more, an opportunity for Flanders to bring the Jews to Christ.

Baudouin, Herald of the Order of The Claw, dared sin and seduce me. This will not go unpunished!

I sent Baudouin to the Knights Templar where he will repent his sins.

God has shown His mercy. I feel better and it appears the Flu has left my body.

The noble English King has decided to reinstate the rightful ruler of Gascogne. I ordered the peasantry to supply any passing English soldiers.

Is God not above the law? Is he not the ultimate authority? From now on, The Word of God will be the only law in Flanders! I will burn the cities' charters and replace them with the Ten Commandments.

God punishes me for my sinning.

Luckily, Herman helped me and got me to my bed. I owe him my life, I decide to write a poem in his honour.

It is high time to liberate the Flemish people in Amiens and bring them back to the word of God!

The war has begun, I told my soldiers they were doing the work of God, easing their minds.

God blesses me with a child. Surely it is a sign I am following the right path?

The French Pig has formed an alliance with Aragon, perhaps King Pere will teach him the ways of just rule and autonomy.

The Battle of Amiens begins. After the initial clash, it is clear that the Flemish forces will win the day. I read the bible to my men. All bow before the might of God after the battle.

It is the Divine Duty of God to help others and be honest. After reading Averado's poem, I decided it would be best to inform him about the unlucky comparison between God and a piece of bread.

The Siege of Amiens begins, victory will be achieved in no time.

The new version was way better, being more skilled in the art of poetry, I decide to publish his poem for all the court to see.

It is not my fault people are illiterate! I sent a message to Averado, praising his poem and promising to defend him at court.

As the war rages on in France and Flanders, I recieve a message from a revolt in The Holy Roman Empire. I pray for a swift end to the conflict that undoubtedly hurts many people.

It appears the fast is working and I feel like a great weight has been lifted of my shoulders!

I send word through the realm for all wise men to come join me at court. The call is quickly anwsered and the scholar treats my daughter.

I have forgotten to care for my son and Heir, Robrecht. I decide to teach him the ways of Christ.

The peasants of Vermandois rise up against the French Pig, under complete Flemish rule, such thing would not have happened. Fearing for the life of my son, the count of artois, I send a small force to reinforce his castle.

My son is truly a child of God. I fell like he has become a smart boy, capable of understanding the troubles and gifts of this world.

The artifact is lost. It has been more than 20 years, I have funded this search for years, all for nothing. This will not happen again.

God has shown me the light. I now realise that a healthy diet is better than feasting while the peasantry starves in the streets.

Disturbing news from the east, the infidels have created a band of disorganised soldiers to expand their hideous faith.

The war is won, I grant the county to a noble Flemish man.

The Flemish forces met with the Vermandois peasant army. After a morning prayer, and begging the peasant leader to surrender, the batttle begun. It was horrible, the unarmored peasants were no match for the Flemish Militias. After the slaughter, the remainder of the hostile forces retreated.

My chancellor informed me that I, as duchess of Flanders, have a claim on Reims, it is high time a Flemish Bishop was imposed in Reims.

I immediatly declare war, I will show the French bastards how strong Flemish forces are!

I have shamed God and myself. How could I have failed my Lord? I asked the local Abbess to flog me, as a punishment for my sinning.

Frédéric, one of my Heralds, one of the most pious men in Flanders, has been slain. He is given an honourary burial and has been taken up in the annals of history.

My son Robrecht has finished his education, he is a pious man, following the will of God like his mother.

After the death of the Aragonese king, the French Bastard-king formed an alliance with his son. Undoubtedly to expand his vile French ways to Iberia.

My son is a virtuous and pious man, I decide to make him a Herald of The Order of The Claw. He will now lead the Flemish forces to victory!

The English king and the pope declare war on the French opressor. Surely it must be clear my cause is just and Holy?

I have won the Siege of Reims, victory against the Duke of Champagne is all but certain.

We have won the war, Reims now falls in the hands of Flemish!

As my father dies, my sister succeeds to the throne of the Latin Empire. One man's curse is another man's blessing.

My Chancellor informs me of a Flemish minority in Troyes, opressed by the French Duke of Champagne, forced to pay more taxes. Although it is my duty to liberate them, I think it is high time to accomplish a greater task...

The moment is here, the French pig's forces are divided and weak. It is high time we broke free from their unjust rule and declare ourself kings!

The Duke of Champagne supports his French Brother-in-arms. The loyalists are quickly defeated by the Seperatist forces.

Flanders immediatly lays siege to Melun, capital of The French Kingdom. If the war continues like this, Flanders will be independent soon enough!

We won the Siege of Melun, the very heart of the French Kingdom has been captured by The Seperatist Forces.

The treasury is empty, the mercenaries feel forced to leave the seperatists. I understand this and will hold no grudge. At least they did not join the enemy. There are reports of an alliance between the Holy Roman Empire and France. I fear the war is not going as well as I hoped.

The Holy Roman forces attack the Seperatists. The battle is soon lost. I decide to surrender to the Germans before any more Flemish men are slaughtered.

The war is lost, I officialy surrender to prevent any further killings. The army is scattered, the treasury is empty, and the populace is sick of war.

My son and heir is granted the county of Gent to suit his rank. In Gent he will learn to rule.

The French Pig has decided to humiliate me in front of his populace. I will live to fight another day.

The Virgin has appeared to me, I spent a day in prayer and fast to honour this blessing of God.

My husband wants to duel a man who keeps insulting him. I decided to allow it, would God not show who was right?

I have learned from my mistakes, if I want to succeed, I will have to ally the Holy Roman Emperor.

I have recieved word that Roubaud was a homosexual. Leviticus is clear about this. I will arrest him and he will abandon his sinful ways or die.

The Danes and French continue to conspire against the hardworking Flemish.

The Holy Roman Emperor accepts. A great day for Flanders.

The Pig of France retracts Reims from Flemish rule, I accept but prepare a reconquest immediatly.

I declare war on the Child-Duke of Champagne. The Flemish minority in Troyes will finally be liberated!

The infrastructure in Brugge was deplorable, I immediatly fund an initiative for new roads.

Raiders from a far away island raid my lands, the Flemish army is raised and sent to destroy them immediatly.

I have been enlightened by God. I no longer long for the pleasures of the flesh. This is a great spiritual victory for me. I thank God and the Blessed Virgin for this gift.

The war for Troyes continues. The army of Champagne is defeated at Amiens.

After the great victory in Amiens, we lay siege to Troyes.

I feel like I can talk to anyone now. I am not as shy as I used to be.

Forgive me Lord, for I am a sinner. I keep drinking and eventually my courtiers tell me I'm a drunkard.

Revolt spreads around the world. Both The Holy Roman Empire and England face revolts, destabilizing

After losing my claim, my chancellor managed to fabricate a new claim on Reims, it will be reconquered before long.

The remainder of the Champagnese forces are defeated at Brugge.

I am blessed by God! The Stigma is clearly a sign that the Flemish cause is just and holy.

The French Bastard-king has died, his son succeeded.

We have liberated the Flemish people of Troyes, another cultural genocide has been prevented!

The sons of Abraham are once more allowed in the realm. Perhaps Flemish missionaries can convert these people.

My mother has died, I will pray for her soul. She was a greedy and envious person, two of the deadly sins. I remember her as a just woman, loyal to my father. Surely God will allow her in The Kingdom of Heaven.

I found a very interesting book today. I left all work in the hands of my councillors and seclude myself in my room.

The Mongol empire marches on. I pray for the souls of the Eastern Christians. Oh Lord, from the Mongols deliver us!

Considering I had a claim on Reims, I immediatly start a war to reconquer Reims and return it to Flanders' rightful rule.

I have learned a great deal from the book I am reading, the word of Christ becomes ever clearer to me.

I decided to educate a French count in the ways of the Flemish people.

We have won the war against Reims, the very man I granted the county to, refused to become my vassal again. Such treachery is unheard of!

The Teutonic Order will purge Europe from the infidel threat!
