France IA - Part 15 XCOMS in Action

Good day all, you're about to read a shorter than average part of the France IA game because I figured I'd stop at turn 500. Stawpoll results are the same as usual: Vercingetorix leads with 13, Alaric and Viriato have 4, and no one voted for Alfred. Poor Alfred.

Fair warning: You can skip this part and miss nothing. Just sayin'.

This part starts by looking at the most active front in the Gallo-Visigothic War of Even More Domination, which is the north. Gallic XCOMs are far behind enemy lines, hanging around Nantes and St.-Hilaire. The main Gallic advance is marching on Blois.
That's not to say that nothing is going on in the south. Things are. Its just... I've seen pancakes that are less likely to flip than Conques and Nant.
Well, this is to be expected, with the world divided into 3.5 empires.
As I said, Conques. Pancakes. Flipping.
The Gauls recapture Blois, and send reinforcements to take Loudeac. La Rochelle is still recovering from being nuked.
Nant and Conques switch ownership. Agde is still somehow Gallic.
Look! Progress! Loudeac falls to the Gauls, and Sarzeau is under attack.
Conques and Nant are strangely in the possession of one person at this time, which is a rare occurrence.
Chatellerault is next on Vercingetorix's list of cities to take, by the looks of things. I'm surprised that there are still unpillaged tiles in this general area, though I'm pretty sure they're all covered in fallout.
I know this part is boring, and I'd remove slides where nothing happens, but lets face it, this part is 44 slides long, and 9 of those are stats, and 3 are lists. That's only 32 slides of action, if you can call it that. In retrospect, I should have combined this part and part 15 and cut the fat from both... You have my apologies.
Sarzeau is now loosely in the hands of the Gauls, while Chatellerault is set to fall.
Chatellerault does fall, but Loudeac is retaken by some wayward Visigothic XCOMs.
You can see holes in Alarics carpet now. They're not big, they're more like patches of wear and tear, but they're there.
So much for Vercingetorix's conquests in Brittany.
Vercingetorix finally uses XCOMs as they are supposed to be used: a stealth attack en force against a city in the enemy's rear. Nice to finally see them used correctly.
Damn... Alaric should be worried.
I think the impossible is about to happen: The Gauls have moved up enough units to begin attacking the next line of cities after Conques and Nant! Brive and Preman start to take damage.
Well so much for Brive and Preman taking damage. In other news, Toulouse was nuked, and a large Gallic XCOM force is present between Biscarosse, Saint-Sever, and Bayonne (just offscreen)
Sarzeau and Chatellerault flip to the Gauls. I wouldn't say that the fight for Blois is over considering the amount of forces Alaric has to its northwest.
I said Blois, not Chatelerault. Vercingetorix retakes Loudeac.
Trebas and Brive are at half health, which can only mean progress! Preman is damaged again, but that doesn't mean much.
Vercingetorix could take Nantes with the force he has around the city, but he'll probably dick about and not take it while concentrating on flipping the irrelevant pile of ruins that is Chatellerault.
Trebas falls to Vercingetorix's advance, though it'll probably flip... *sigh*
Chatellerault flips and flops, while Nantes takes damage. Maybe this way something actually interesting will happen.
Or fucking not...
Trebas flips and Toulouse is nuked again.
So... Everyone is dominant over the Iberians, but who else is Vercingetorix dominant over? I have no idea, as I can't check the tourism/great works page for some reason. I have no idea how that happened, probably the same way that I turned off the World Congress. Help with this would be appreciated as well.
Here's a look at the Anglo-Saxon core, with many populous cities and a carpet that includes XCOMs, but only as a minority.
Here's the rest of the Anglo-Saxons. More XCOMs here, but still not enough to matter.
And here are the Iberians. Interesting to note that a large contingent of Alfred's units are in the open space here. Also, there are a lot fewer Visigothic units here than there were last time I bothered to show the Iberians.
Unfortunately the Monzon-Pays Basque offensives failed, which is a shame as they could have actually done something.
Here is the great meat grinder. At the moment, Trebas is Gallic while Preman and Cahors are Visigothic.
Brive is fine, while the Visigoths are attacking Limoges.
Blois looks swamped with Visigothic XCOMs which can only mean more flipping. Unfortunate, as its actually a nicely sized city at this point.
The Visigothic exclave of Turin is doing well, as you can see. Enjoy this view of the weirdly shaped Great Wall, as this is the last time you'll see it in this shape.

Again, apologies for the mostly useless part, but I've got it so it might as well be displayed. I can say with certainty, however, that next part will have some action that actually means something.

Useless Strawpoll: http://strawpoll.me/6847762
Score graph, same as usual.
Military graph, same as usual.
Relationship chart, mostly the same.
Population ranks, with added Anglo-Saxons.
Production rankings.
Well, Vercingetorix controls over half of the map.
And he's somehow still ludicrously happy.
This is pretty much useless, but tech info.
And this is logical. Glad to know that Viriato isn't last in every category. How many people actually read the stats?
