Chavchuveny! A Siberian AAR, Part 2
In our last installement of Chavchuveny! (http://imgur.com/a/gby11), our brave nation was facing a perilous struggle for survival as 30,000 angry Japanese soldiers marched to destroy us! Whatever will become of poor Chavchuveny?

Well, fortunately for us, Japan forgot how to navy, an essential component to launching successful invasions WHEN YOU LIVE ON AN ISLAND. After the last Japanese war, I prudently invested in some galleys, which kept me safe from Japanese aggression. So, we win by default! Yay!
Westernizing? Why not throw some fuel on the fire...
Because our current woes aren't bad enough, let's throw some generic stability-losing events into the mix! It's a bad time to be Chavchuvenian. Of course, it's always a bad time to be Chavchuvenian because they live in SIBERIA. Moving on...
Silver linings
Those peasants that rose up in the New World were going to eventually break my country, but the war postpones that for now.
You cannot pass!
Hue hue hue.
The Reformed faith is spreading!
Siberia, the bastion of Calvinist Christianity.
Ming, you don't look so good...
No matter how badly your nation is doing, there's always another out there that's doing worse. And that nation is Ming, always Ming.
Westernization almost completed!
Soon the tables will turn and Chavchuveny will subjugate the world under its boot!
Glorious!
Chavchuveny, the great Siberian Tiger and Centre of the World, joins the ranks of 'civilized' nations, even if most of them don't know we exist yet...
Hurrrrrr
After being at war with them for decades, we *finally* discover Japan! Now that we know they exist, this will definitely help the war effort.
Victory! Glory! Revenge!
Japan kneels to Chavchuvenian naval might and surrenders. We get our old land back, plus some war reparations. This will fund our extensive building projects.
Chavchuveny can into Rivals!
Now that we're a player on the world stage, it seems appropriate to piss off a much stronger nation for almost no reason whatsoever. We rival Portugal and swear to wipe them off the face of the map, once we update our maps to mention Portugal.
Surprise Russia!
OH GOD NO RUSSIA IS HERE! RUN FOR YOUR LIVES! So the bear finally stretches its claws across Siberia. Honestly I was hoping for Novgorod and the Hordes to get lucky and beat them up, but alas this was not the case. We'll have to stand our ground and find a way to deter the beast...
Ideas!
I haven't mentioned Chavchuveny's ideas yet! After the mandatory exploration ideas, we took economic, followed by trade.

Normally I loathe the economic and trade ideas and never take them. This is because usually gold is very easy to get, and monarch points aren't. So swapping monarch points for gold is a bad idea.

However, that logic gets turned on its head when you start out as an impoverished Siberian tribe. The only way we're going to get powerful is if we get rich, as there's nothing nearby we can realistically conquer. The majority of my income has been thrown into buildings to generate more income, which in turn goes a lot further with economic and trade ideas to back everything up.
A Miracle!
The heavens have opened! God himself has blessed our nation and gauranteed our security by allying us with France! Just what the HELL where France thinking?

Well, France doesn't actually know we exist yet, so we don't get a -20 relations penalty from a neutral attitude when it comes to making alliances. Combined with +1 diplo rep from fervor focus on stability, and +2 rep from a statesman, we just managed to wing it.

I suspect, given France's nonexistant knowledge about Chavchuveny, our statesman just lied out of his arse about who we are. Yes, yes, we command legions and legions of soldiers! We're the envy of the far east! Russia quivers in its boots when our armies march! Join us, and we can conquer this world together!
Budget overview
Outside of war reparations, we're making 8 ducats a month. Not rich, but not dirt poor either. My temples, constables and workshops are approximately doubling my tax, production and gold income. More buildings! More shekels! Need more stronk!
More ideas
Beavering through Trade ideas, this will really help our income.
Russia is here!
Hide your wife! Hide your reindeer! We start upgrading the fort levels on the border and cross our fingers. At least France will keep us safe. Also, despite bordering us Rissia don't know we exist. Secret Chavchuveny is best Chavchuveny!
Goodbye Chavchuvenian Holiday Restort
I sell my Caribbean holding to fuel my buildling ambitions. I suspect having such prime real estate would create a lot of heat with European powers, best to let it go since we earn nothing from it anyways.
Chavchuveny Stronk! Best Nation EU!
Not our finest hour, I must admit. Our army is pathetic, why pay for an army when you can put that gold into making workshops!
Rebels abound!
This rebellion used to be 6,000 men strong, but with one simple trick discovered by a live-at-home despot they dissapear! Peasants hate him!

...so, peasant rebels don't resupply. A few rounds of Siberian Winters are enough to thin their ranks to the point where my tiny army can clean up.
Uh oh...
Secret Chavchuveny has been discovered by Russia! I improve relations and try to be friends with the beast. We're too weak to sharpen our knives...yet.
Meanwhile in Europe...
Our ally and stalwart friend doesn't know we exist. Charming.
Trouble brewing in Europe
Westernized Ottomans? I predict some bad times for Eastern Europe.
Shenanigans abound
I took Defender of the Faith to help convert my nation, but now that all my provinces are Reformed, the DoF status is a millstone around my neck with it's +5% tech cost. I 'lose' a war to a nearby native tribe to get rid of DoF.
Speaking of tech costs
Siberian Clan Council worst government EU! +15% tech cost is ghastly and I want it GONE. I've been able to reform my government for a long time now, but I've held off until finishing Trade ideas because I don't want my new monarch to produce an heir. Why is this? Read on!
The True Strategic Goal of Chavchuveny!
The Republic awaits! I've been aiming to turn Chavchuveny into a Merchant Republic since day 1. It's the best government form when it comes to making money and I need to get rich! Also, The Most Serene Republic of Chavchuveny sounds pretty metal.
Hit That Button!
I had to release Ainu as a protectorate and sell them a province to get under the 20 province limit, as well as build about 20 caravels to earn the required trade income. But nevertheless, we did it! We are a Merchant Republic Calvinist Siberian Tribe. Now let's make some money!
Get outta here Ainu
Protectorate? What filth is this? I had no possible vassals to release due to my tech type, so I cancel AInu's protectorate status and start plans to take back my old provinces by force.
Dammit Japan!
Japan capitalizes on Ainu's lack of protection and invades! There's nothing I can do, because I got a one-way truce when I broke the protectorate. My borders are hideous!
THE SKY IS FALLING! RUN FOR YOUR LIVES!
France finally finds out about our existance and discovers our statesman's promises about Chavchuvenian might were mere fabrications. Now we're in trouble. I can't find a friend in the world and we border Russia. At least their status is Neutral, they're unlikely to attack with a Neutral status so everything is fine! No need to panic!
TIME TO PANIC! END TIMES ARE UPON US!
This is the worst case scenario! Russia is hostile! AAAAAAH! I build up the fortifications on the border, start saving for the March building and cry softly to myself.
OH GOD NO PLEASE LEAVE ME ALONE...
Is this it? Are we entering Chavchuveny's twilight period? Whatever will we do? Can Chavchuveny survive? Will Russia attack? Find out in the next installment of Chavchuveny! A Siberian Tribe AAR!
