A Communist Germany AAR: Part 14
In which we summarise three years worth of liberations in a single part.
15th October: 1945
We successfully liberated the USA in October 1945. This marked the beginning of the end for Capitalism and now we simply have to mop up the remaining capitalist nations across the World. A true International World Republic is inevitable
Communism in the USA
Americans have been barraged with an endless stream of anti-communist propaganda for the past 12 years. In spite of this we have been able to find some support among the American Workers.
Communism in the USA
We have had the most success in promoting our ideology in the North East of the country. While not directly calling themselves "Socialists", many American workers have established unions and numerous factories have fallen under Worker control.
Communism in the USA
But make no mistake, most Americans view us as an occupation force rather than liberators. In order to stop mass violence breaking out, we have been forced to use our own army to keep order, fueling increased hostility to the new government in a never ending cycle.
Desegregation
Among the most unpopular of our policies is the mandatory desegregation of American society. We believe that all men, regardless of race, nationality or anything else are equal. This is clearly opposed to the widespread American beliefs of racial supremacy so our desegregation policies have caused the most conflict. In spite of this many Americans have come out in support of desegregation, with Black Americans becoming the new regimes' largest group of supporters.
Desegregation
Other areas have been much less receptive to our policies. In particular, our attempt to force Schools to become open to all American students has been a major point of tension. Demonstrations against the new government on the basis of promoting minority rights have become commonplace and breaking them up only leads to further resentment against us.
Desegregation
Unlike the relatively homogeneous populations in Europe, the American populace is clearly divided by race and class. Erasing these divisions will be our primary goal in America and hopefully will lead to acceptance of Socialism in the country.
Naval build up
In preparation for further liberations abroad, we have begun constructing several more capital ships including more Super Heavy Battleships and carriers. These new ships will allow us to easily crush the Japanese Navy which is the second largest in the world, behind our own.
Socialism in the Americas
Following the defeat of the USA, we prioritised securing the rest of the Americas. Some American nations surrendered peacefully...
Socialism in the Americas
...Others had to be liberated by force...
Socialism in the Americas
...but either way our International continued to grow. In the case of Central America, we created a new Internationalist nation to unify the area. Internationalism holds the International together and we shall promote it whenever we can.
Socialism in the Americas
By June 1946, we had the entire Caribbean under our control. A pan Caribbean federation was created to unify the many island nations and Hispaniola was brought under one Government. The liberation of Gran Colombia marked our first advance into South America.
Socialism in the Americas
From our landing point in the North East of Brazil, we advanced inland and we were easily able to defeat the Brazilian Army.
Socialism in the Americas
Brazil was soon liberated and we brought numerous German advisers in to oversee the development of Socialism in the country.
Socialism in the Americas
The ease in which we defeated the Brazilians heavily demoralised the remaining South American States. The subsequent wars were won easily without much resistance.
Socialism in the Americas
By the start of 1947, the entire Western Hemisphere was under our control. Each victory was followed by further victories, and those victories were followed by more.
American resistance
In spite of our success abroad, we had struggled to maintain control in America. We had to deal with countless rebellions against the new government with many militia groups operating from the countryside. Often patrolling German soldiers would come under gunfire from nearby farms however when investigated the locals would swear innocence. We also had to deal with various lynchings against Black Americans when local police refused to address them.
In the East Indies
With Europe, the Americas and Africa under International control, just Asia remained independent. Our British comrades led the fight against the Dutch Government in exile, securing various islands and paving the way for their defeat.
In the East Indies
We did not stay out of the fight entirely however. German infantry were responsible for defeating the Malaysian Government and bringing Socialism to the East Indies.
In the East Indies
Malaysia soon became the International's first East-Asian member. The ports opened up during this operation paved the way for further landings in the area.
In the East Indies
For example, German troops landed in Manila in March 1947 and brought the Philippines into the International. Until that point China and Japan had almost been in their own world, away from our various wars of Liberation. With us on their door step, they began arming themselves in preparation for an inevitable conflict with the Fourth International.
Nuclear Research
Einstein and Heisenberg's research team began development of miniaturised nuclear weapons. This would allow us to attach Nuclear Warheads to our various rockets preventing effective interception of any nuclear attacks that we launched.
Liberation of India
In April 1947, we began our invasion of India which still remained under the British empire's control. India stood as one of the last colonial territories in the world so its liberation doubled as one against both Capitalism and Colonialism.
Liberation of India
Our landing went smoothly without any resistance. 22 mixed divisions of armour and motorised infantry landed in Southern India and had a clear path up north.
Liberation of India
Most of the Indian army was in the Himalayas defending against International forces. Casualties were incredibly high for both sides here, but it effectively drew Indian forces away from the south.
Liberation of India
By May we had the south secured and we were taking cental India without meeting many enemy divisions.
Liberation of India
Still, the Indian army remained engaged in the North. It was likely that due to the terrain, Indian troops were simply unable to withdraw quickly
Liberation of India
The British soon landed in force in the West. With this, the sun finally set upon the British Empire.
Liberation of India
India was left in ruins after our liberation and our British Comrades proposed partition to effectively manage the reconstruction effort. In the end, we agreed. The British would help rebuild the new "Pakistan" while we would help rebuild the rest of India. Reunification would take place in the future naturally.
Indian government
The new Indian Government was led by Mahatma Gandhi, a popular anti-colonialist Indian leader. His support of Internationalism and peace helped to pacify the Indian populace.
Ships completed
In September 1947 our first new Capital ships were complete.
Defeating the Dutch in Exile
Landing in Java, we sought to finally defeat the Dutch Government in exile. The Dutch had a sizable army made up of Dutch officers and Javan locals but their loyalty was questionable.
Defeating the Dutch in Exile
This came to a head when attacking Yogyakarta where a sizable number of Indonesian soldiers defected to the International.
Thai Liberation
During this time we were making moves into Indochina by securing Thailand. By this point few countries were not in the International, including Vietnam, Iran, China, New Zealand, Australia, Indonesia and Japan.
Defeating the Dutch in Exile
Pushed back through Java, the Dutch made a last stand on the western tip of the island.
Defeating the Dutch in Exile
This did not end well for the Dutch. German tanks closed in and easily breached Dutch defences liberating Indonesia.
Completed fleet
By November, our fleet had been assembled in Kiel and it was ready for further action in the Pacific.
Defeating the Dutch in Exile
Indonesia was liberated in November 1947. Many parts of the East Indies were under British occupation however these areas were steadily given over to the Indonesians.
Nuclear Research
Our Nuclear Reactor continued to be expanded throughout 1947. Each expansion brought additional nuclear material allowing for further production of nuclear weapons. We hoped that we could intimidate nations into surrendering peacefully by threatening to use the weapons.
Indochinese liberation
The Internationalist Indochinese Union was liberated in December 1947 under the watchful gaze of the Revolutionary Ho Chi Minh.
Moving into Australia
Australia hosted the remnants of the British government in exile including the Royal Family. This made it a priority to secure so we seized the strategically important island of Guadalcanal in preparation for an invasion.
Moving into Australia
In March 1948, our fleet left Saigon to begin landing troops in Eastern Australia.
Moving into Australia
Our main fleet arrived just in time and engaged the outdated Australian Navy.
Moving into Australia
We unsurprisingly defeated the Australian navy and they retreated from the landing zone.
Moving into Australia
Our initial landing looked promising, with just a single outdated garrison division holding the coast.
Moving into Australia
However soon reinforcements arrived...
Moving into Australia
...and we were forced to retreat.
Moving into Australia
Instead we landed in the North which was undefended.
Moving into Australia
Australian divisions moving in to oppose our invasion were easily defeated allowing for us to begin liberating the country.
Further wars
In April we wanted to wrap up Asia so we declared war on the remaining independent Asian minor nations.
Chinese Intervention
However the Chinese finally entered the fray due to our wars with Tibet and the Yunnan Warlords. We were not expecting this but we were preparing to invade China soon anyway.
Chinese Intervention
Our initial advance into Yunnan was successful and we encircled numerous Chinese divisions.
Chinese Intervention
These divisions soon surrendered bringing us our first victory against the Chinese.
Iran Liberated
Iran was liberated in April leaving just East Asia, Australia and New Zealand outside of the International.
State of Australia
Advances were made through Australia through June, however the harsh Australian terrain prevented as quick an advance as we would have liked.
Chinese Intervention
In June we finally began to focus on Liberating China. Large quantities of supplies were given to Chinese Communists and we allowed the communist leadership in exile to return to their homeland to free it from the Capitalists. This is the penultimate war that we will ever have to fight, and we have the full weight of the International behind us.
Chinese Intervention
We also decided to finally return the Chinese territory we controlled to the Chinese Communists.
The World in July, 1948
This brings us the the current day. We remain at war with China, Australia and New Zealand. Once we have liberated these countries, we will prepare for our final confrontation with the Japanese. For the Fourth International!
