Notes on this AAR;
I'm playing using all of the DLC, bar Mare Nostrum, and with MEIOU & Taxes version 1.25. I have manually removed the 'amalgamation government' from the game, because its really annoying and railroads history too much. Due to this, I'm not running in Ironman. For more details, see here:

Despite the unrest that grips the north of the country, our nation is beginning to enter a time of great progress. Inspired by my actions, the educated elite of Georgia are beginning to translate and read old Latin and Greek texts, looking for ancient wisdom.
Roman Roads
One of the first things noted is the Roman system of roads. Throughout Europe, these roads cut through hills and pass over rivers, granting swift transit to armies and traders.

However, Georgia lacks any formal road network. Roads are at best, well worn paths of dirt. Only a few of our large cities are paved.

I order the establishment of the Royal engineers commission, to oversee the construction of a road network throughout Georgia.
Tolerance is needed
In light of the current rebellions, I am follow the path my father set down, and proclaim that all Georgians, weather Christian or Moslem or Jew, are loved in the eyes of God.

Fortunately the Patriarch does not counter my move, or else I might have been looking at a religious civil war.
The army is reformed
At the behest of my military commanders, I bring our army in line with those of Europe by dividing the whole force into smaller regiments. This makes supplying soldiers and delivering orders much easier.
A market hall in Imeretia
As our largest city besides Tbsili, Kinaisi has been a local centre of trade for a while now. A local lord sponsored an Italian architect to visit Georgia and design a huge market hall and he has produced magnificent results.
Plague in Trebizond
A plague has spread to Trebizond, no doubt carried by their new Moslem subjects. I give orders for aid to be sent to our ailing ally.
Open rebellion
The unrest in the north has finally spilled forth into open rebellion. Fortunately, the first force of rebels is unorganised and easily rounded up for execution.
Battle in Shapsug
The Georgian army had its work cut out fighting the second group of rebels. A Moslem tribal chief called Hebizh had organised the rebels into an efficient army. However, they were hampered by language issues, so my men eventually carried the day.
Constantinople is lost
The Turks have taken the great Orthodox city. It was expected, but no less saddening to hear. The Ottomans are now calling themselves the Turkish Empire. I hope and pray their ambitions do not extend to us in Caucasia.
Trouble in Shirvan
Shirvan has been invaded it seems. If Georgia were not so troubled internally, I might make a move myself.
Foolish advisors
My advisers think that we should indeed attack, but I ignore their foolish suggestions.
The Patriarch is threatened
Plotting with the church has boiled over and now even the Patriarch is threatened. I go out on a limb to supply him with guards and political clout.
Trebizond calls for aid
Our good ally is preparing for a war with Genoa and they request our aid in taking the trader's Black sea holdings.
Milan is distracted
The Genovese's ally in Milan has proven most fickle, desiring instead to fight a war against the Austrians.
Sea battle
Trebizond found their fleet caught out and surrounded by the Genovese. Two of their ships were sunk forcing their way out from between the cogs and galleys.
The Engineers report back
The Engineering Commission has reported back, saying they are ready to begin paving the roads around the capital.
Missionaries are sent out
The Patriarch has sent more missionaries to Somkheti. Apparently the people had quickly turned back to their old ways once the missionaries left.
My father's legacy complete
The centralisation efforts put in place by my father have paid off. I am now in direct control of most of central Georgia, the local nobels either having their titles revoked, or their holdings moved to other parts of the Country.
Education improves
Monastic schools are being encouraged by the Patriarch. He wishes the learned of Georgia to learn of the holy scriptures from the men who know them best.
Genovese invasion
Genoa has sent an army to Trebizond. However, my ally is away, still besieging the Genovese port towns. I order my army to defend their capital.
A poor fight
The terrain proves too much for Georgia's army to overcome. The commanders arrange a tactical retreat in order to regroup and fill up the ranks.
Trebizond holds Kaffa
With the main goal of the war now in the hands of our ally, all we must do is wait for Genoa to give up their claims to it.
Another poor fight
Trebizond returns to their capital, only to also be defeated by the dug-in Genovese soldiers.
A patriarch recovered
The patriarch of Constantinople has been forced out of the city by the Turks, but their Bulgarian client state took him in. We send our congratulations to him, but chose not to swear fealty, for Bulgaria is under the control of the hated Turk.
The Genovese are evicted
At last, at the third battle of Khaldia, Georgian soldiers manage to storm the Genovese defensive positions and rout their army. There was nowhere for them to run, for the Turks had closed their borders. We've taken a thousand prisoners for ransom.
Missionary success
The people of Somkheti are Orthodox once again.
The Patriarch is entusiastic
Emboldened by his success in the south, the Patriarch orders the missionaries to convert the heathen Moslem tribesmen in the north. I hope this does not cause more unrest to spread.
Ill wind from the west
News from the west never seems to be good. The last news I heard indicated that the Turks had taken even more land on the coast of the Black sea. I can only hope that the Mamluks will find some quarrel with them, for the armies of Georgia cannot hope to match the size of those of the Turk.

Thus ends part 6 of Edge of the World.
